I've been watching what has been going on in the Middle East lately and I saw a miracle a couple of weeks ago. Yes, a miracle.
So what is a miracle? To some, a miracle is simply something that science can't explain. I don't think that's quite right. A miracle is how God displays His perfect knowledge of science and planetary laws that He Himself has established and His authority to manipulate them.
In the Old Testament when the Israelites were wandering in the wilderness they were sustained by the manna. But they grew tired of the manna so they petitioned Moses for some meat. Moses went to God and made the Israelites request known. God directed Moses to take His people to the place where God led them and when the people arrived, birds started falling from the sky and the people feasted on meat and rejoiced at God's miracle.
A couple of centuries later, modern scientists discover that the quail is not exactly the smartest of birds. When they get tired of flying, they just stop flapping their wings and fall to the ground. There! No miracle! Science explained it...........or did it? While it is true that science discovered WHY the birds fell to the earth, they couldn't explain how the Israelites ended up in the migration path of the quail at the exact time the birds would begin to tire and start falling to the earth.
Which brings me to a more recent miracle. On MSNBC there was news footage of the riots in Egypt. This footage was taken at night and there in the midst of the rioting crowd, was a pale, phantom horse and rider. The horse and its rider galloped through the crowd and then simply disappeared.
While there has been no official explanation for the phenomena, there has been speculation that it was a lens flare. So I thought about this. What are the odds that conditions were exactly right for a lens flare? And what are the odds that this flare just happened to be in the form of a horse and rider? And what are the odds that this shape of a horse and rider are very significant to any Christian familiar with end-times prophecy? And what are the odds that this occurred in news footage of a riot in Egypt where Egypt is a big player in Christian end times prophecy? So I ask you: is this science? Or a miracle?
When I see everything that had to be exactly perfect for this event to occur, it seems to me that the odds are just too high for it to be a random event. I'm believing it was a miracle.
